It is interesting the Roy Nelson came clean when he was tested for steroid several times-actually many people still doubt that he came clean. It is obvious that he will be tested more times than he expects even now as he has proved that he has not been using steroids. Nelson is the guy you look at and decide that he is using steroids even without the need of having the steroid test. It sounds bad to pass judgemetn without tests that decide anything but I’m sure some people were disappointed that he came clean. Roy Nelson can relate to be associated with steroids even when he was not on steroids and has never been. This fighter has been tested for steroids probably more than the required number of times and probably more than any other fighter of his caliber.
This has not downed his spirit after all since he has added a lot more feathers to his cap, even after the rest of the world thought that he was getting some assistance to reach where he has.
Steroids have been used for a long time, especially anabolic steroids. Since anabolic steroids have a measure of androgenism, most people will use steroids that have a higher percentage of anabolism than androgenism so as to add more weight than to lose weight. Strength builders will prefer steroids that will add lean muscle to their weight and since most of these will add watery muscles at the same time, they will stack them with steroids that reduce the amount of water retention at the same time
The catch with steroids is that you have to diet and exercise to see any change in form. Any sudden change in form in someone like Roy Nelson-to increase the form and capacity of his muscles -would definitely have lead to suspicion that he is on steroids. He may not be a competitive bodybuilder perse but steroids are known to improve the supply of steroids such that any visit to the gym will increase muscle mass and strength in no time. The amount of steroids one uses will determine the muscles one will build. Basically, the more you use, the more muscles you will build and the more changes you will have to make in your diet and exercise regime to achieve what you want. Steroids will increase aggressiveness, which can be positive in the sense that it increases the athlete’s psyche and negative in the sense that it can lead to depression or crime and others
Still, there are some negatives like the increase in fat with prolonged use, depression and the lack of testosterone in the body. Prolonged use can lead to some other nasty side effects like gynecomastia in men and Virilization in female users.
